A dirt bike accident left a 9-year-old Kawartha Lakes boy in critical condition this week.

The Ontario Provincial Police in the City of Kawartha Lakes announced that youth had critical injuries as a result of a dirt bike accident on the weekend.

At 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, emergency workers responded to a dirt bike accident at a private home in the former Somerville Township.

On Tuesday, OPP in the City of Kawartha Lakes said a nine-year-old had serious injuries and was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma center.

The kid had been wearing his helmet at the time of the accident, according to OPP.
