A swimmer was killed in a boating accident on Lake Rosseau

CTV News reported that swimmer was killed after being struck by a boat on Lake Rosseau in Muskoka early Monday morning, according to police.

At 6:45 a.m., Bracebridge OPP was called to Shamrock Lodge Road in Port Carling, where numerous phone calls had reported an unresponsive man 70 feet from a dock.

The victim, who was a 48-year-old man who had been swimming with a visibility marker, was struck by a boat. Police claim he was staying at a nearby resort.

They claim he died of his injuries, despite rescue attempts.

The boater who was struck stayed at the scene and is assisting with the investigation. At this time, no charges have been filed, according to OPP.
