CTV News reported that Joel Banbury, an Oshawa teacher, has been charged with luring a youth to facilitate the commission of a sexual assault and luring to facilitate the commission of sexual interference. Police arrested Joel Banbury on Wednesday.
Police said they received information regarding the allegations against 44-year-old Joel Banbury in February and began their investigation.
The alleged incident supposedly took place sometime in 2016. The investigation began in February.
According to police Joel Banbury is employed as a teacher at Coronation Public School in Oshawa and previously worked as a teacher at David Bouchard Public School in Oshawa. They say that he also coached girls’ volleyball at a Durham Region club.
“Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims,” a press release issued by police states.
