Michael Thompson: Toronto city councillor charged

CTV News reported that , Toronto city councillor, Michael Thompson has been charged with sexual assault against 2 women. 

Calvin Barry, Michael Thompson’s lawyer, said the allegations originate from an incident that took place in Muskoka July 2022.

Barry said that,Thompson will “vigorously” defend himself against the allegations made by two women.

A court appearance date of Nov. 1 has been set in Bracebridge.

Michael Thompson is running for re-election to keep his seat in Ward 21 Scarborough Centre. He is a member of Ottawa’s executive committee and the chair of Economic and Community Development Committee in Toronto.
