Early Sunday morning, a single-vehicle rollover killed one person near Cobden, Ontario, according to an Ontario Provincial Police officer.
The OPP said in a Monday press release that their cops, paramedics, and firefighters were dispatched to the collision on Highway 17 around 2 a.m. Two people were in the car and both were taken to the hospital, police said. Charity Deschamps of Petawawa, Ontario, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The OPP said the inquiry is continuing. For the duration of the investigation, roughly three kilometres of Highway 17 between Main Street and Turcotte Road were shut down and reopened Sunday afternoon. The location is about 115 kilometres northwest of Ottawa and 45 kilometres southeast of Petawawa.
